With ongoing COVID measures, we were called in to local Woolton Medical Centre to help maximise the space for Doctors and staff in the parking areas. Overgrown trees and shrubs were encroaching on parking spaces, reducing the available, useable space - A key concern with the Government's health measures for safe social distancing in place.

In the images (below), taken from opposite sides of the site's front car access gate, we can see overhanging tree branches presenting a visual and physical obstacle at pedestrian head height. It creates a barrier to natural light across the site.  By pruning low branches, the tree's appearance is improved and the possibility of accidental damage to the tree by vehicles, is removed. It also provides a more welcoming environment to visitors to the medical centre.

The tree pictures (below) indicate the pruning cuts which have removed pedestrian head-height branches. These were a nuisance to visitors and the cars entering the medical centre grounds 

Realising Available Space

In these before and after photos we also see how car parking spaces have been maximised by hard trimming back of shrubs and overhanging branches from the steel fencing area above the space. All tree and shrub debris was chipped on site and removed from the location.
