Our work with City Central Business Improvement District, Liverpool

involves working with many partners to ensure the city centre site is attractive. The psychology of landscaping, softening built up, concrete areas plays an important role in creating an environment that attracts and retains footfall. The softening of the hard landscaped areas also contributes to a strong sense of the managed and maintain safe public space. Around 4mins in the video, our work is featured and commented upon in this City Central BID video circulated amongst its members and stakeholders.

Remove Diseased Tree from Heart & Lung Hospital A&E Entrance, Liverpool

We were contracted to maintain the site. This video shows the removal of a diseased tree in the busy entrance to an accident and emergency centre. The video shows the safe working and management of a critical site subject to ambulance traffic and pedestrian visitors.  This contract includes grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, gritting during winter months. A hospital is a demanding environment requiring the highest safety standards and commitment to operating unobtrusively and efficiently at times designed around the client.

Removal diseased 18m Lime tree -Hugh Baird College

We were called in by John Moores University to remove a diseased lime tree, 18 metres tall which presented a threat to home owners and vehicle traffic, in Litherland, Crosby.
This video documents the staged removal of large upper branches, securely roped. These were then controlled-lowered by three man teams. The video also shows the use of a 'crash-mat' for larger lower trunk sections of the tree. Crash mats are created from tree debris and serve as a vital way avoid damage to hard landscaping, such as public pavements or built environments within a campus location.

Keeping Liverpool City Centre Bright & Colourful

North West Landscapes has been partnering with the important City Central Business Improvement District of Liverpool since 2007. We installed, maintain, feed, supervise, and ensure the huge number of hanging baskets we are responsible for are fed and watered on a regular cycle. The quality of our work is consistently so good, Ged Gibbons, Chief Executive of City Central BID said, "We thought there was no vandalism because the maintenance has been so unobtrusive.. Everything has been fantastic. Well done, keep up the good work!”
This is a real mark of the attention to detail we deliver in maintaining our landscape work. Liverpool city centre experiences a massively punishing pedestrian economy both during the day and night.  We have maintained a fantastic partnership with the BID company over 11 years and still going strong.

Landscape Installation & Maintenance John Moores University Art & Design Academy

For John Moores University, we were brought in to landscapes the prestigious Art & Design Academy back in 2005. We oversaw and managed the installation of planting, a large area of turfing against a tight deadline. Our standard of work and commitment over many years saw us win the contract against national opposition to provide landscape and tree maintenance, sports pitches and grass cutting for this large client operating many campuses across the city of Liverpool.
