Professional tree removal & tree stump grinding, Broadgreen hospital A&E entrance, Liverpool L14

This short video shows how we safely managed a tree removal at Broadgreen hospital, Liverpool L14 at a busy A&E entrance.
The area was safely cordoned off. An area around the tree was secured, while allowing necessary ambulance access to the A&E admissions bay.  Note the pedestrian traffic which is monitored by North West Landscapes Ltd staff.

This video also features a commentary by Louis, our tree surgeon. He explains how the tree became infected, and how the disease spread from an unprofessional, 'bad' pruning cut  had left the tree vulnerable to pathogens. He clearly shows the progress of disease throughout the main trunk. He highlights the safety involved in professionally diagnosing a diseased tree. A diseased tree may be unstable. It will present a risk to life from falling limbs or in the worst case scenario, a tree in high winds falling onto buildings or public traffic.

Tree Felling

Tree felling is when the tree is 'dropped'. A minimum number of cuts to upper branches and upper trunk are required.

If your tree is within your boundary and the space allows it, it's possible to fell your tree. Once felled, your tree is easier to cut into smaller sections. These can be removed or cut into sizes suitable for wood burning stoves.

Some branches will be chipped. They can provide a useful ground mulch for your garden to suppress weeds. You might want to create 'bug houses'. This is where slow decaying logs are piled up encouraging insect colonies. These in turn attract birds, wildlife which can breathe life into larger garden spaces.

You can see how we felled this large tree at Calderstones in Woolton, Liverpool recently. The fall is managed safely with safety lines to encourage the drop is guided into the selected space. The clip also shows the secure rope work of professional tree surgeons in dismantling a large tree in sections.
